BTW: Someone asked why the orange rubber wristband around the lens focus ring? Out of habit I use them on my lenses because the rubber focus rings on older lenses have come loose. Since I’m a Catholic press photographer, I use the wrist bands given from friends in Utah — of all places: “Catholics Totally Rock.”

Thanks for your post, Michael. The D700 is a great camera. I’m sure you’ll agree. And the iPhone4 is a real fun toy, especially the camera. As I tell people, the best camera is the one you’re carrying and more often than not, it’s my iPhone.

Awesome snaps! I’ve been shooting for 3 years with a Nikon D300 and renting a D700 when needed for low light sports assignments and photo shoots…glad to say I just received my new D700 yesterday…also upgrading from Blackberry to iPhone4 for a Father’s day gift this weekend…can’t wait to start using the iPhone4 for my take along camera….

As a photographer (term used very loosely here) and Catholic, I loved this article. I’ve always wanted to find a way to marry the two, and to read this article is testament to great opportunities that God can bring one’s way…pray for me that God may lead me to a good way of tithing my second “T” of the Three “T”s of tithing..

Haring is far too modest. He has taken many engaging photos of the pope, and the people who come to see the pope. And of St Peter’s Square! The photos of the beatifcation of Blessed John Paul II were just brilliant; I was so sad I could use only a couple of them in our newspaper.

However, Peroni is a dreadful beer.
